Gemma – Endometriosis

Gemma’s Endometriosis Surgery in Spain

“I got over here last Sunday and I met the surgeon, Dr. Lucas Minig, on the Monday. He went over everything that’s going to happen in good detail, and if you had any questions or any worries, just go over it with him and he’ll give you his number for any worries so he can help you along the way.

On the Tuesday, you’ll be brought in for your surgery and everything will be removed. He fully cleans everything no matter what he sees so that you won’t be struggling with the pain anymore.

That was last Tuesday, and now today’s Monday, and I’m flying. I am going everywhere. I’m just trying to get out and do something.”

Recovering from Endometriosis Surgery

“The first few days after the endometriosis surgery I was in bed. I was struggling a lot, just trying to move about and get in a comfortable position.

But there in the last two days, maybe, I’ve been out walking, doing everything, and it’s been great to get out of the house. It’s so much easier to do stuff. I can feel the relief on my body already, even just a week after surgery.

I feel so much better now than I felt before I even had the surgery.”

Looking Forward After Surgery

“Now in the next couple of weeks or months after the surgery, I’m looking forward to getting back to life as normal and getting back to work, being able to do everything properly, and trying to see friends more.

Because with everything going on, with pains and everything, you just get into a wee routine and you forget about everyone around you.

So I can’t wait to get back in contact with friends and start seeing them. Maybe start some sports to get active, just to get out of the life that I was in before.”
