Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll & Labor Admin (Gestión de Nóminas)

  • Collect and validate monthly overtime hours in compliance with Spanish law.
  • Manage alterations to payroll for employees which includes sick leave (bajas por IT), maternity/paternity leave, and holiday balances.
  • Coordinate with our external Gestoría to ensure monthly pay slips (nóminas) are accurate.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Finiquito (settlement) for departing employees.

2. Accounts & Payroll

  • Manage Accounts Payable: verifying and recording the payment of invoices from local and international 3rd parties.
  • Prepare the monthly payroll for all staff, includes overtime payments and any monthly alterations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Ensure all accounting entries comply with the Spanish General Accounting Plan (PGC).
  • Making links with profit and loss statements and balance sheet management to insure total data consistency and to confirm that the P&L activity aligns perfectly with the changes in our balance sheet accounts.

3. Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain up-to-date employee files and ensure GDPR compliance regarding financial data.
  • Detail-oriented professional to oversee technical accounting compliance and ensure our books are always ‘audit-ready’.
  • Management of the end-to-end process for VAT returns and corporate tax obligations

Candidate Requirements

  • Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish & English is essential C1 or native level only.
  • Education: Degree in Accounting and finance
  • Experience: Full understanding of the Spanish payroll system. Experience of Irish payroll systems is also a plus.
  • 3-4 years in a similar role within SpainTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.
  • Experience making links with profit and loss statements and balance sheet management.
