Jennie – knee surgery

Part 1

Introduction

“I had been suffering with pain in my knee for about a year and a half. I had an MRI back in November in Ireland, but after that I hadn’t heard anything. I had been referred to the hospital through the HSE, and I was still waiting while living with a lot of pain.

A colleague at work recommended Healthcare Abroad, so I decided to look into it. From the very beginning, the service was absolutely amazing. Within just three weeks, I was booked on a plane, my treatment was arranged, and everything was organised for me.

I’m here now, I’ve had my procedure, and I’m flying home this evening. The whole experience has been fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier with the service.

Part 2

Dr Fernando Sendra

“I had my surgery in HCB Denia with Dr Fernando Sendra, and he was absolutely brilliant and really funny as well actually. It made me feel very relaxed. He answered all the questions that I had as well and checked in after the surgery.

I had my follow-up consultation again today before I head home. And he went through everything with me. He’s been so helpful.

Part 3

The Healthcare Abroad Drivers

“The drivers were fantastic. I have to say, they were great guys and nothing was ever a hassle for them. They went above and beyond to help with anything we needed.

I have a fear of needles, and they even helped me with my injections, which meant so much to me. They were incredibly supportive and always willing to step in and help.

They drove us to our physiotherapy appointments, hospital appointments, and even to collect our medication. If we needed anything else, whether it was tea bags, Crunchies, or Tayto, they were always happy to help.

They were not only helpful but also great fun to be around. They kept everyone smiling and gave me plenty of laughs during my stay, which really made a difference to the whole experience.”

Part 4

The Healthcare Abroad Team

“There were so many people supporting me through every step of the process. From making my appointment and arranging my MRI, to speaking with the surgeon, booking my flights, and organising everything, I always felt looked after.

There was even a member of the team that met me at Dublin Airport to make sure I had my wheelchair assistance and got safely onto the plane. When I arrived in Spain, someone was there waiting to meet me on the other side.

Every step of the way, there was always someone there to help, and I really felt like I was in safe hands. The whole experience has been so professional, and I’m incredibly grateful.

Hopefully I won’t need another surgery anytime soon, but if I do, I would definitely use Healthcare Abroad again. One hundred percent.”
